NEWSLETTER: Return to Corona
This Saturday we return to our hometown, Corona for a free all-ages show @Its a Grind.

This is a photograph of us from our last show @The Green Masquerade in Colton. The event was held to benefit a young man named Dylan who was recently diagnosed with stage four lymphoma. Though we have not yet met Dylan, our hearts go out to him and his struggle to beat cancer.  For more photos from the show March 15th, CLICK HERE!

Preservationist, naturalist, author, explorer, activist, scientist, farmer, John Muir (4/21/1838 - 12/24/1914) was all these things and more. Explaining his impact then and now, this 90-minute documentary delves into Muir's life with reenactments filmed in the majestic landscapes he visited: Wisconsin, Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada, the Alhambra Valley of California, and the glaciers of Alaska. This awe-inspiring film streams for free in HD straight from the PBS website. Watch it!

Our very own Danielle "Blue Fox" Miller has opened an Etsy shop online called Dreamed in Calico, and she sells handmade goods as well as vintage clothing. Browse her shop; it is full of whimsical little treasures!
In November, Black Bear began writing a short novel after his little voyage back East. He decided he would like to share installments of each chapter weekly on his blog. This is the 2nd Chapter of his novel, "Tuesday - The Descent", and the novel itself is called "Walden: A Modern Transcendentalist Mecca". He would certainly appreciate it if you took the time read it, and if you dig it; He will be posting more installments. Enjoy:

Recently, Black Bear and Black Rabbit (Geneva Miller) spent some time in the studio working on the second track of Geneva’s new album, “Wake O’ Heavy Heart”. The song is called “Darling Dear”, and it features beautiful but ominous piano chords, and of course, Geneva’s ghostly voice, and there are even some haunting harmonies too. We are elated to say that part of your support of Black Bear & The Cheyenne Autumn Band goes to charity and empowering others. Through the organization Children International, we are sponsoring 8-year-old Zamiah of Little Rock, AR. Zamiah is in second grade, and she loves art, music, and dancing. She lives in a single parent home, and her mother must work long hours, leaving her children vulnerable to negative influences. She needs organized activities and individual attention, and our donations go to pay for these activities, and insure that she has food, shelter, clothing and medical treatment.

Black Bear & The Cheyenne Autumn Band have been on a mission of good, trying to help and improve our community. One organization that is doing a lot of good for the impoverished people of Corona/Norco is TheSettlement House.  Founded in 1912, the mission of the Settlement House is “to be a major source of compassion, information, and emergency support for people in the Corona-Norco community facing personal crises that threaten their stability, safety, housing and health.”

Another way we can all help our community is to buy locally grown food and support our local farmers. Every Saturday, Black Bear rides his bike down to the Farmer’s Market with his dad and often with other members of The Cheyenne Autumn Band as well. “The Corona Certified Farmers Market is open every Saturday, rain or shine, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm Located off of the 91 freeway at N. Main St. in the Main St. Marketplace (across from the Fender Museum) it is the perfect place for you to do your Saturday morning shopping to support corona as well as the local farming community!”
